Week1:Explainantion of Controller



A microcontroller is a small computer on a single integrated circuit containing a processor core, memory, and programmable input/output peripherals. PIC used is a 40-pin consisting of several components:

o   Power Supply
o   For the power supply, voltage required by the PIC is 5Vdc. For this project the input voltage in use is 12Vdc.12V obtained either from a 12V battery or 12V adapter. Therefore we need a 7805 voltage regulator to drop the voltage from 12V to 5V.

o   Oscillator
o   Each microcontroller need oscillator to operate. If no oscillator the microcontroller cannot read the program in it.


o   Port
o   Port is a group. Each group have their own name. The group name is given A (A0-A5), B (B0-B7), C (C0-C7), D (D0-D7), E (E0-E2).


o   Reset

o   In the event of a hang on microcontroller, how to be done is short on pin 1 to pin 0V.

Explanation of Block Diagram.


                 In first stage the plastic waste will be compressed by manually. After that, plastics waste will be put into shredder container and shredding machine will start shredded the plastics waste. In this first stage of shredding it will cut horizontally using motor at speed 1500 rpm.

          Then the plastics waste that had been shred horizontally will push into below container that will work as vertically shred the plastics waste from first stage. Same goes here where 1500 rpm motor speed will be apply.

          At the last stage, the final plastics waste that done and evenly shredded will transfer into final container bin.

Literature Review


  Previous work
              Research had been doing about this machine and the result there is no invention of this plastic recycling machine in our country. Malaysia only uses the recycle bin that has separate item which is Plastic,Paper,Glass and other.
                 So separately part will go to the recycling factory and recycling process will starts and ends there. By having this kind of machine, the plastic waste can be shredder in to the size demand which is 2cm x 2cm after that it will be send to the factory for the further plastics recycling.
                 It will become easier to handle because it only designed for the miniature use not for big industry. This machine had been invented at other country such as India,China,Europe and United States of America(USA).

Present work

Research that have been done project contributed to this point of invention Plastics Recycling Machine which is Shredder part.
·         Shredder parts
o   In this part, the main function of this machine been invented is to easy recycle plastics waste before send the small size of plastic waste that been shredded to the big industry of recycling product.
o   Also to initiative by the government have make a separable recycle bin to the recycling purposes.
o   It is because the space of recycle bin provided is constraints of space therefore this machine invented to ease and user friendly to others by recycling they self plastic waste.
o   This machine also can save space before sending all the plastic waste to the big industry of recycling product.
·         Hardware
o   Tough and durable body part
The body part has to be able support the tank being use for shredded process happen.Long-lasting this is because it will keep running without accurate time subsidise.
o   Low level noise
Whereby non-metal material using for this container during machine run does not disturb others and will run smoothly without irritate people.
o   Design a suitable shredder pattern.
For this machine there’s a bit changes on blade shredder pattern.This been recommended for this invention Plastics Recycling Machine.
o   Heavy duty Single Phase Induction Motor
Heavy duty AC Motor used to run the rolling shredder.The main purpose to use this motor because it has 1500 rpm that fast enough to roll the shredder and cut the plastics waste as size demand
·         Software
o   LOGO-soft(Siemens)
§  LOGO! Basic is available in two voltage classes:
·         Class 1 ≤ 24 V, i.e. 12 V DC, 24 V DC, 24 V AC
·         Class 2 > 24 V, i.e. 115...240 V AC/DC
§  LOGO! Basic is available in two versions:
·         With display: 8 inputs and 4 outputs
·         Without display ("LOGO! Pure"): 8 inputs and 4 outputs .

Objective and Project Scope

                 This project study intends to demonstrate the invention of Plastics Recycling Machine.

      I.     The utility of new design of shredder that compatible with any size of plastics waste to shredded.
    II.        The absolute shredded process the aim on evenly cut the plastics waste into as small piece (2cmX2cm).
   III.        The noise during shredded process running will steadily reduce.

Sco                     This project will require hardware to be built. These project will run using LOGO-soft software where it from Siemens product. This project also need a combination of component and circuit that will semi-control by LOGO-soft.
